5. Rather Than Focusing On Illness Or Symptoms, Focus On What You Love, What Brings You Joy, And What You Want to Do
Some people despise being sick or having symptoms. However, illness and symptoms are reactions that protect us. We should be grateful for them. The cause of illness and symptoms lies in having felt something unpleasant for a long time before they developed. Rather than despising illness and symptoms, we should recognize that we were not living joyfully and address that.
Once you realize you weren’t living joyfully, immediately start finding things you love, things that bring you joy, and things you want to do. Choose actions that keep your heart at peace.
I can’t say that your illness or symptoms will go away if you continue doing what you love, but you’ll start liking your current situation, including yourself, more. If you no longer have unpleasant experiences in your current situation, the cause of your illness or symptoms might disappear.
Don’t you think it’s better to live a joyful life, doing what you love, what brings you joy, and what you want to do, rather than focusing on illness and symptoms and working hard to treat them?
