7. Know Yourself
It’s safe to say that we worry and struggle because we don’t know ourselves. If we understand our true selves, unpleasant things may happen, but we won’t be troubled by them.
The more actively you get to know yourself, the more you experience life without unpleasant events, leading you to define life as “getting to know yourself.” I place great importance on knowing oneself, for both myself and others.
If you know your true self, you won’t be misled by unseen things, won’t dislike yourself or others, won’t focus on what’s “missing” or “unpleasant,” won’t become arrogant, and won’t stay in a bad mood for long. People who live according to their true selves are often called people of character.
Don’t you want to know what true desires lie behind your thoughts and actions?
