4. Loving Yourself More, and Gaining Confidence
People who are confident in everything naturally believe they will be okay no matter what happens. It’s not because they can do anything or that they never face difficulties, but because they love themselves even when they fail or when they are lost in doubt. Why can they love themselves even when they are incapable or uncertain? It’s because they have confidence. But why are they so confident? There are many ways to gain confidence, but those with unwavering confidence consistently make choices that bring peace of mind.
Peace of mind is synonymous with being true to oneself. The more you know your true self, the more peace you will feel in your heart. The longer this peace lasts, the more you will love yourself and the more confident you will become. Of course, accumulating successful experiences or comparing yourself favorably to others can also increase self-love and confidence.
However, when confidence and self-love are based on success or comparison, it’s impossible to continue loving yourself or maintaining confidence when you’re in a state of “lacking.” Seeking validation from others, material things, results, or evaluations is not being true to yourself. When you recognize that you already have enough in the present, you can choose actions that bring joy and peace. Understanding that seeking something from your environment stems from a sense of lack helps you realize that trying to change “lack” into “abundance” leads to dissatisfaction with the environment or yourself, and a lack of confidence. Everything is “abundant,” and you act and speak using this abundance, enjoying the process itself.
