”Well, next, I’d like to talk about my ideal. It’s about work. There are some things I’ve been thinking about through managing the company, so I hope you’ll listen.” With that, Ellena began to speak.
“For me, work is about doing what I want to do and having that recognized by society. I want to be aware that what I want to do is helping someone, somewhere. That’s why I manage a company.” As Michi listened, he admired Ellena.
“That’s wonderful, Ellena. It means that your ideal is reflected in your current work. It’s incredible that you’ve made your ideals a reality and are fully aware of it. I think that’s something really amazing.” Michi found himself applauding.
“Do you have any other ideals when it comes to work?” Michi asked.
“Hmm… I do have other things I want to do besides my current business. My ideal is to be aware that all the businesses I run are contributing to society. As for work, I don’t ask for anything beyond that.” Ellena answered with a sense of satisfaction.
“My ideal for work is to be able to make a living doing what I truly want to do. This is the same as your ideal, Ellena. If I can make a living doing what I genuinely want, I believe others can also find what they truly want to do and make a living from it. That’s what I believe.” Michi was delighted to find that their ideals were once again aligned.
“If everyone could turn what they truly want to do into their work, what kind of society would we have? Everyone would enjoy their work, there would be no more reluctant working or harassment, and the working environment would improve a lot, wouldn’t it?” Ellena said with excitement.
