4. How to Achieve a Joyful Life

A joyful life means that everything in your life brings you joy. It means finding joy in everything―work, daily life, family, people in videos, the objects around you, even the stars in the sky.

I used to think such a life was impossible, and I think many people believe that something bad will happen someday.

I believe that my life, which was a struggle to find enjoyment and where I was just barely getting by at work and work, transformed into a joyful life because I understood myself and continued to strive to make the present moment enjoyable.

Ultimately, I concluded that it’s simple: to find joy within my own perception. Within the scope of what I know―the people and things around me, the past and the future―I imagined how I could be happy, how I could be happy with others, what I enjoyed, what I liked, and what I wanted to do. I then experimented with these thoughts and actions, and regardless of the outcome, I continued my search for joy. Creating my own joy becomes the joy of others, and creating the joy of others becomes the joy of myself.
