When you experience minor symptoms such as a slight runny nose, a feverish feeling, an upset stomach, or stiff shoulders, you might realize that you were trying to do something right or avoid making mistakes.
At such times, you’re likely seeking validation and approval from others, rejecting being disliked or criticized, and failing to find gratitude or joy in the fact that you’re able to do what you want to do.
These symptoms can be seen as a lesson that joy comes from doing what you love, what you enjoy, and what you want to do, without seeking or expecting validation from others or results from your actions. Instead of thinking, “I want to be recognized by others for doing good and doing the right thing,” or “I don’t want to make enemies, so I don’t want to do anything that will make people dislike me,” if you focus on yourself and your ability to do what you want, you’ll find that unpleasant things won’t happen to you.
